THE ALPINE RHINE VALLEY - WHERE NATURE REINVENTS ITSELF
For centuries, the Alpine Rhine Valley has been repeatedly remodelled by humans and adapted to their needs. This has often been at the expense of nature: the Rhine has been regulated and forced into narrow channels, drying up reed beds and wetlands that provided habitats for many species. Other areas - and species - fell victim to agriculture. But today, new approaches are being taken. Many small steps are being taken to achieve great things and make the Alpine Rhine Valley wilder and more natural again.
